Green Homes Office at the 2008 NJ Affordable Comfort Institute's Conference

The NJ Green Homes Office sponsored a booth and moderated a renewable energy session at the 2008 ACI New Jersey Home Performance Conference for Whole House Energy Solutions on September 9th and 10th, 2008. Mary Sheehy of the NJ Green Homes Office moderated the "Affordable Housing Goes Solar" session on Tuesday. The session included presentations by Anthony Kasperack, NJ Housing & Mortgage Finance Agency; Larry Barth, NJ Clean Energy Program; Charles Kartsaklis, CODE Electric; and Peter Ypsilantis, Integrated Green Technologies. The session covered programs, financing and results related to installing solar photovoltaics on affordable housing developments. There was a brief introduction of a few key topics such as state solar programs and initiatives, solar financing structuring, ins-and-outs of installation, and things to keep in mind after the system is up and running. Presentations resulted in a vigorous and informative answer and question period. On the second day of this conference the NJ Housing & Mortgage Finance Agency and NJ Green Homes Office won an award.
