The NJ Green Homes Office is hosting the first of its 2010 green trainings. We will start off with an introduction to national and state green building programs. It will cover process and submittals for the NJHMFA Green Future program, LEED for Homes, the National Green Building Standard, and ENERGY STAR. Gabriel Nathanson, NJ Green Homes Office, will provide updates on the Green Future program as well as on new additional resources to help anyone implementing green building measures. Christine Liaukus, NJIT, will speak on various educational resources - specifically the free online Affordable Green Academy. Jon Jensen and MaGrann Associates will present an in-depth comparison on LEED for Homes, the National Green Building Standard and ENERGY STAR.

NJHMFA is launching several energy efficiency and renewable energy stimulus programs. This training is geared towards owners of existing affordable multifamily buildings that have financing with NJHMFA or single-family homeowners that have participated in one of NJHMFA's mortgage programs. Mary Sheehy will present on the Multifamily Energy Efficiency Improvement Program (MEEIP), Solar Funding Pilot, on an initiative with PSE&G for Multifamily Energy Efficiency and on the Green Homes Office's Energy Benchmarking study. Dana Irlbacher will present on the green requirements associated with the CHOICE single-family development program and on various energy efficiency programs available to homeowners. Gabriel Nathanson will present updates on the Multifamily Weatherization Assistance Program.
